The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with utilizing the full worth of seized Russian funds to aid Ukraine's defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to engage in negotiations.

They added that the move would be implemented in tight collaboration with the America.

UK penalties have blocked over £25bn of Russia's resources since the Russian government initiated its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, funds sent to Ukraine using Russia's funds had exclusively been drawn from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were aligned in their aim to advance efforts toward employing the complete amount of the immobilized Moscow's national assets to end the war.

He noted that additional sanctions soon would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This statement is subsequent to EU representatives met in the Danish capital previously to discuss using frozen Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, President Donald Trump encouraged international partners to seize or otherwise use immobilized Russian assets, as reported by media sources.

The value of frozen Russia's funds in the Europe is estimated to be nearly €211bn.

The Russian government executed large-scale aerial attacks throughout Ukraine on that day, leading to blackouts in large parts of Kyiv, the city, and multiple additional areas.

Several persons were lost their lives and no fewer than 20 people were injured in the strike, Ukrainian officials said.

In a message on an online platform after the incident, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike focused on civilian and energy infrastructure.

"The necessity is not just talk but concrete steps - from the America, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in providing anti-aircraft weapons and applying sanctions," he stated.

"All penalty impositions weakens the Russian war effort," Zelensky wrote, in a separate post.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to media outlets he would urge Sir Keir to enter the Purl scheme, under which Nato countries acquire weapons from the America to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the United Kingdom's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the initiative, as well as enforce further sanctions on Russia.
