The Streaming Giant Selects Ideal Performer for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Season 3

Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the third season, and a adored, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

The platform declared this week that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bon Clay. Bon Clay has the ability to transform into an perfect replica of any individual they’ve touched with their right hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a version of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the live-action series, unlike the initial comic and cartoon version.

Escola will work alongside a number of new cast members set to bring the organization to the screen, including leader the main antagonist, played by the well-known actor, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who is also part of the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.

Though Bon Clay is a major member of the group, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Given the next season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this represents a significant shift in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could signal additional alterations to the story’s structure.

The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
