Energy Repair Efforts in the Capital
Efforts continued on Saturday to recover electricity in Kyiv, after strikes by Moscow.
Energy had been returned to over 800,000 citizens by the weekend and the biggest power firm stated the primary efforts to repair the grid was finished though partial blackouts persisted.
Anti-Aircraft Operations and UAV Interceptions
Ukraine's defense forces neutralized 54 out of seventy-eight UAVs from Russia deployed towards Ukraine overnight, the air force said on the weekend.
The Russian military authorities stated it intercepted forty-two UAVs from Ukraine over Russian territory.
Cuban Government Refutes Claims of Deploying Troops to Ukraine
Cuba on Saturday refuted American allegations it has provided soldiers to engage in the hostilities, while stating the government "do not have accurate information about citizens of Cuba" engaged "on their own" or "as part of the armed units of both sides".
The foreign ministry in Havana announced 26 nationals had been given prison terms to jail sentences from 5 to 14 years for mercenary activity since September 2023 when news emerged of individuals being dispatched to the front in the conflict.
