Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
