Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the group enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the northern region in search of the antagonist.
